Praised for their “compelling conviction” (The Daily Telegraph) and “astonishing mutual feeling” (Seen and Heard International), the Foyle-Štšura Duo was formed in 2012 and won both the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe Duo Competition and the Salieri-Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition in 2015. They have since appeared at major venues including Wigmore Hall, the Purcell Room, Buckingham Palace, Bridgewater Hall, Usher Hall and the Concertgebouw, and at festivals such as St Magnus International Festival, Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, New York Chamber Music Festival and Cervantino Festival (Mexico). Their performances are regularly broadcast on BBC Radio 3, NPO Radio 4 and Estonian Klassikaraadio.
Their acclaimed discography includes The Great War Centenary: Janáček, Debussy and Respighi Sonatas (Challenge Records) and Lutosławski and Penderecki: Complete Works for Violin and Piano (Delphian Records). In 2020–22 they released Beethoven’s complete Sonatas for Piano and Violin on Challenge Classics to mark the composer’s 250th anniversary, earning widespread praise, including a five-star BBC Music Magazine review. Former Park Lane Group and Kirckman Concert artists, they are now City Music Foundation Ambassadors.

Michael Foyle, winner of the 2016 Netherlands Violin Competition, performs internationally as soloist and recitalist, appearing with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Rotterdam Philharmonic. He is Professor of Violin at the Royal Academy of Music and Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, and plays a 1750 Gennaro Gagliano violin.
