Awarded a 2022 Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, Alessandro Fisher was a member of the BBC New Generation Artists Scheme between 2018 and 2020. An Associate Artist of The Mozartists, he won the 2016 Kathleen Ferrier Awards and was selected by Gramophone as “One to Watch” in May 2022.
He made his Salzburg Festival debut as Lucano L’Incoronazione di Poppea and his operatic engagements have further included performances with Garsington Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, The Grange Festival and the Royal Opera, London. He also appears regularly in concert and recital, including performamces for Leeds Lieder, Oxford Lieder and at Wigmore Hall.
Engagements during 2022 / 2023 include Ferrando Così fan tutte for The Grange Festival, Osvaldo in Mercadante’s Il Proscritto for Opera Rara, Berlioz L’Enfance du Christ at the Wimbledon Festival, Britten Les Illuminations with the Ulster Orchestra, Donizetti Requiem with Orchestra della Svizerra Italiana, Mendelssohn Die erste Walpurgisnacht with Huddersfield Choral Society and Elias at the at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Mozart Mass in C Minor with Royal Northern Sinfonia, Sørensen St Matthew Passion with Danish National Symphony Orchestra Vaughan Williams On Wenlock Edge and Serenade to Music with the Nash Ensemble, On Wenlock Edge with for the Navarra Quartet, First Brother The Seven Deadly Sins with the London Symphony Orchestra, a recital with Simon Lepper for the NI Glenarm Festival of Voice and Magic Lantern Tales at the Beverley Chamber Music Festival.
His recordings include Theodore in Loder’s Raymond and Agnes and Harlequin in Ethel Smyth’s Fête Galante for Retrospect Opera, L’Incoronazione di Poppea on Harmonia Mundi, Bastien und Bastienne on Signum and Roussel’s Evocations on Chandos.

Described by the Times as “a thoughtful and sensitive pianist”, Ashok Gupta was prize winner at the 2016 Ferrier Awards, the 2017 Bonn Beethoven Competition and the 2018 Royal Over-Seas League Competition.
Ashok has enjoyed collaborations with internationally acclaimed artists including Alessandro Fisher, Sarah-Jane Brandon, Dame Sarah Connolly, Louise Kemény, Dame Ann Murray, Daniel Pailthorpe, Jâms Coleman, Olivier Stankiewicz, Lorenza Borrani and Luise Buchberger.
He has performed at major music centres including Wigmore Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Holywell Music Room, Bonn Beethoven-Haus, Glyndebourne and festivals including Oxford Lieder, Leeds Lieder, Buxton and Cheltenham.
He has been a visiting coach at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Ashok is also an arranger, whose arrangements for Jasdeep Degun and Cameron Shahbazi have been recorded for OperaVision and Deutsche Grammophon.
