Jaroslaw Nadrzycki was born in Zagan,
Poland, where at the age of 6 he started having regular violin classes. When
he was only 12, he made his Moscow debut with The Moscow Conservatoire
Orchestra in the Tchaikovsky Great Hall. He also became a winner of all
national violin competitions for young violinists in Poland. He graduated
with honour from the Academy of Music in Poznan (class of Professor Jadwiga
Kaliszewska), the Royal Academy of Music (Professor Igor Petrushevsky) and
University Mozarteum Salzburg (Professor Igor Ozim).
Jaroslaw has won several prizes at international competitions including the
Jascha Heifetz International Violin Competition, Vilnius (2001); Max Rostal
International Violin Competition, Berlin (2002); Tibor Varga International
Violin Competition, Sion, Switzerland (2004); Henri Wieniawski International
Violin Competition, Poznan, Poland (2006); Ruggiero Ricci Violin Competition
at the University Mozarteum Salzburg (2007) and Benjamin Britten
International Violin Competition, London (2008).
Jaroslaw has performed as a soloist with many renowned orchestras: The Royal
Philharmonic Orchestra, Zurich Symphony Orchestra, Hamburg Philharmonic,
Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra “Amadeus”,
Lithuanian National Philharmonic Orchestra. He has given concerts at such
venues as Cadogan Hall in London, Moscow Kremlin, St. Petersburg
Conservatoire Hall, Slovak National Philharmonic Hall, Warsaw Philharmonic
Hall, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Brussels, the Vienna
Konzerthaus, Mirabell Palace in Salzburg.
In September 2008, he was awarded the first Prize at the Haverhill Sinfonia
Soloist Competition. He has also received many scholarship and awards
including the “Mloda Polska” scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and
National Heritage of Poland and the “Huebel Stiftung” scholarship from the
University Mozarteum Salzburg. He has taken part in various master-classes
by Edward Grach, Sergey Kravchenko, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Wanda Wilkomirska,
Silvia Marcovici, Marina Jashvili, Nam Yun Kim, Michaela Martin and Boris
Kuschni.
Jaroslaw plays the Joseph Guarneri violin (c. 1705) kindly on loan from the
Royal Academy of Music.
Tadashi Imai
began his piano study at the age of 11 under tutorages of Kazuyo Ueda and
Mieko Nakagawa in Japan. At the age of 14, he had already won the Grand
Prize, Yamaha Prize and Koichi Nomura (Music Critic) Award at the Kamakura
City National Music Competition in Japan. He continued his studies at the
Toho Gakuen College of Music with Hiroshi Tajika and Hidemitsu Hayashi and
chamber music with Shuku Iwasaki. During his study at the Toho Gakuen, he
performed at the national major music schools top student concert and he won
the Piano Teachers Association(MTNA) Audition and won Second Prize at the
Twelfth Takahiro Sonoda Award International Piano Competition. He has also
been invited and performed at the First Okinawa International Music
Festival. Afterwards he was granted a scholarship to study at the Texas
Christian University with Tamas Ungar. During his study in the USA, he won
Second Prize at the Martin Memorial International Competition, Second Prize
at the Steinway Society International Competition of Dallas, Second Prize at
the Springfield Symphony Audition for young musicians, MTNA (Music Teachers
National Association) Audition and First Prize at the Grand Prix
International Chopin Competition. Later, he was granted a scholarship to
study at the Royal Academy of Music, London where he studied with
Christopher Elton and chamber music with Clifford Benson and Michael Dussek.
During his study in the UK, he performed at the Tunnel Trust Music Course
twice and the Halifax Chamber Music Festival for Young Musicians and the
Messiaen Festival (Broadcasted by the BBC Radio 3 "In Tune").
He has performed many concerti including Stravinsky's Piano Concerto (with
the Royal Academy Orchestra), Tchaikovsky's Concerto No.1 (with the Fort
Worth Symphony Orchestra), Chopin's Concerto No.1 (with the Osaka
Symphoniker) Rachmaninoff's Concerto No.3 (with the Feuerwerk Symphoniker,
Tokyo) etc.
Since he graduated from the Royal Academy of Music (where he was awarded the
Academy's Postgraduate Diploma, DipRAM and the Vice-Principal's special
award), he has been a Junior Fellow of the Academy for four years (an
Associate Fellowship at the Academy 2005-06, the Hodgeson Fellowship
2006-2007, the Shinn Fellowship for 2007-2008 and the Foudation Fellowship
for 2008-2009.) In 2008, he was appointed Associate of the Royal Academy of
Music. (ARAM)
Since 2005, he has been working with the class of violinist and the Academy
professor Gyorgy Pauk. He was the official accompanist of the Menuhin
International Violin Competition in 2008, an official accompanist of the
London Masterclasses, the Lake District Summer Music (England) and the
Bartok Festival (Szombathely, Hungary). He has also performed with great
musicians including the Academy professors Maurice Hasson and Lydia
Mordkovich (Violinists) . He was an official accompanist at the Lionel
Tertis International Viola Competition this year. He will be again an
official accompanist of the London masterclasses, Bartok Festival and Lake
District Summer Music this summer.
Tadashi's performing style has no limits, he enjoys working with not only
singers and orchestral musicians. He also enjoys working with poets, dancers
and painters. His forthcoming concert engagements in include solo recital
and chamber music concerts in Japan, England, France, Ireland, Spain,
Holland, Poland and Germany.
